Differences in Bulky Yarn

Hi there,really need to unload on this subject.

I bought 6 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun to make a Garter & Seed Stitch Cardi for Winter. Started it last week, and with the texture of the Homespun, you cannot see the pattern which is such an integral part of the sweater. I was so dissappointed.

So not to be daunted, I went searching for a #5 Bulky Weight Yarn in a smoother texture and low and behold I found it at Herrschnerrs. It is Bernat Softee Chunky with 180 yds per ball and at only $2.99 a ball. I took a moment to let you all know what a lovely yarn this is if you have not tried it before. I am doing a gauge check as I type :)

I will definitely use the Lion Brand for something else as I love that yarn also.
