FAVORITE AUTHORS (By Request) :)

The first group of authors are my favorites and are not necessarily in order of preference as I like them all and have read every one of their new books as they are published.  I read lots of other authors, but these rate the highest.  As I think of them I will jot them down....  How do I know when there are new books published?  Well, I've been a member of the Literary Guild for years and even though I don't buy any more of their books (library books only now), I am notified of new releases and reserve them immediately at the library.  I also get e-mail notices from several writers when they have a new book being released.  I just received a tip from my daughter Debbie about a great website that is all about Books.  Anything you want to know, visit http://www.fantasticfiction.com/.  Unbelievable is what it is.  Wow!!

Ok, Ok, Ok, here's my list:  :)

David Baldacci (what a writer!!)  Loved True Blue.  Check for his series I have read at the bottom of the page.  (His books are so easy to read.  Short chapters, usually with a tease last sentence to make you want to go another chapter.  Never fails.)

Nora Roberts (just ordered her fourth book in the Brides Series)

Susan Wiggs ("Firebrand" is one of her newest.  Great story)

Barbara Taylor Bradford (her newest "Playing the Game" is a typical BTB good read)

Danielle Steel (her newest "The Legacy" is not bad.  Good read)

William Kent Krueger *

Nicholas Sparks (his newest "Safe Haven" is very good)

Sandra Brown (her newest "Tough Customer" is quite a read !

Luanne Rice ("Summer Lights" her newest, I haven't read yet)

Belva Plain ("Crossroads" her newest, I haven't read yet)

Fern Michaels ("Return to Sender", her newest is really good)

Debbie Macomber (starting a new series in early 2011)

Maeve Binchy (Two new books I haven't read yet :(  "Echo's" and "Heart and Soul" )

Mary Kay Andrews (Three read out of eight, so far)

The following are not highest on the list, but I do read them frequently:
Diane Mott Davidson ( mysteries with Goldy Bear, a caterer, and are all cooking related) *
Patricia Rice
Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Earlene Fowler (all quilting related)
Jennifer Chiaverini (all quilting related)
Patricia Cornwell (haven't read anything recently though)

* Series that I am reading from the beginning:
David Baldacci ( Fantastic Author) Just finished Book #5 in the King and Maxwell Series and have started on the Shaw and James Series.  Can't seem to get into the Camel Club series.
Diane Mott Davidson (all mysteries with Goldy Bear and cooking related)
William Kent Krueger (the Corcoran (Cork) O'Connor Detective mysteries) on Book #3 as I write.
Sally Goldenbaum (a Seaside Knitters Mystery series)

Books I Don't Like:
Historical Romances, Horror, Fantasy or Sci Fi of any  kind.  Fussy aren't I ???   ;) :) :)

Thanks for dropping by.  Come back again.....Carolyn

Hi Carolyn
I'm enjoying reading your blog! I first saw you on Knitting Paradise. You and I have almost exactly (almost-exactly?! Isn't that a whaddacallit?LOL) the same taste in books. At least your first list. Most of your other list I haven't read. I love William Kent Krueger! I think I've read most of his books. I haven't read his latest though. But I will! Have a great weekend! Myra

Hi, Carolyn! I first saw you on Knitting Paradise and checked out your blog. What a wonderful blog - I bookmarked it. You are a delight! I also am an avid reader and have read many of the books that you have listed. Also, knit and crochet all of the time - have been doing both for over 50 years. My FIRST grandchild is due November 30th so my fingers are never idle :) Take good care and keep up the fantastic work! God Bless!
