A few months back I<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> was approached by Carol Taylor, the daughter-in-law of my dear friend Lyndol Taylor, and she asked me if I would be interested in making a quilt for her and to use some lovely embroidered pieces that her grandmother, Leona Collins, had made 50 years ago. After looking at the pieces I agreed to design and piece the quilt it for her.</span></div><div><br></div><div>After hours of thinking how to bring out the beauty of these beautiful handmade pieces we decided to stay with the Vintage look and used 30's fabric in tiny 2" squares which would allow the embroidery pieces to shine. Not wanting it to have a structured look, I set the blocks at various heights and sewed partial seams to get them to fit correctly. It was fun. We then sent the quilt to a long armer to do a simple meandering stitch throughout the pieced block area, but around each square as the fabric was delicate and we didn't want any problems. When the quilt came back from the longarmer I sewed the binding on and hand stitched it. Voila, beautiful! But the quilt was still not finished.....</div><div><br></div><div>Lyndol thought the squares needed something more to finish them off so she took the quilt home and spent the next few months hand quilting inside the embroidered squares and the result was stunning. So stunning in fact that Lyndol and Carol decided to enter it in the West Houston Quilt show that was coming up in a few weeks. We were all thrilled when it took Honorable Mention in the First Time Entered Quilt Category. </div><div><br></div><div>Here is a pic of the quilt with the four of us taken at the show. Good question. I love to glance through magazines and mail catalogs and have gotten many of a pattern from them, bought patterns occasionally, but the biggest source is the Internet. I spend many a happy hour perusing the web and checking out my favorite web sites but the best quilts and ideas come from fabric manufacturers who give their patterns away free (oh how I love free) to advertise their new designs. <br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I have been quilting long enough now though that I can usually just look at a pattern and visualize it in my colors and set down with a graph pad and draw up either a block or a whole quilt. It's such fun and an enjoyable way to spend an hour or so over morning coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon, which brings me to where I found the quilt that I just finished making. Where you ask? Well....Hanging on the wall of the ladies room stall that I was occupying. I happened to glance up and there was this lovely sampler quilt and I was immediately drawn to it. There were lovely quilts hanging in each stall 😳The next week when I went to my Wednesday afternoon Bee I took my iPad and snapped a picture of it as it had been messing with my mind since the day I saw it. </div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I came home, printed the photo and blew it up so I could see it a bit more clearly. There were 20 squares which I cut up into 20 pieces and went to town with it. Actually I didn't go to town, I attacked my stash and came up with a jelly roll that would totally do the trick. I love working on coordinated fabrics. Two months later the 20 squares were done, every one different. There are a few repeat designs but all the colors are used differently. It was an amazingly fun quilt to piece and watch those squares come to life. I've tried to name it, but can't come up with anything and I doubt the "Quilt 'n Sew John" would be appropriate. 😣 So here it is for all to enjoy. If you like it as much as I do, you can find it on my Etsy shop at www.GoodiesByJamie.etsy.com. <br>

All is well now and the Cochlear implant was rescheduled and activated on August 28th. And Yes! a miracle happened. There was sound in that ear where there was none for over 50 years.<div><br></div><div>Oh, I have a long road ahead of me retraining my brain to understand words and sounds, but now 2 short months after the surgery I am actually having conversations with my neighbors, my family, my doctors, sales people. I still wear the hearing aid in my right ear but I no longer need the FM hearing equipment nor the Boogie Board that folks wrote me notes on.</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Everything is wonderful and I want to apologize for not getting back to you all sooner, but...time passes so quickly these days and I have been so busy having fun. But I am back now and I promise to write more often. I have plenty to show you and I'm quilting up a storm. I joined a craft group here in the complex on Tuesday afternoons and have my two Quilting Bees on Wednesday and Thursday, so things are definitely looking way up. Now to find an older man who is interested in some companionship and life would be complete. I rather like living alone, but it wouldn't hurt having someone to go out to dinner with or hang around with. It's not going to happen and I'm only dreaming, but it's nice to think about.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I would like to show you my latest accomplishment. It will probably go up for sale on Etsy but right now I want to enjoy it. It is by far the most intense pattern I have ever made (and the most expensive) but it was something I have wanted to do for years and years, so when my local quilt shop held a class on making the Feathered Star Wall Hanging I was a goner. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">For your enjoyment, I present my interpretation of Judy Niemeyer's Feathered Star...</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5A_t0Grg1edmIMUk4QkBNWJ6n_rxR_prSJgvp5aSwe3a2ITEOaXeNFsEdBwGGsrpCFzqvZzjwD3lrRBozuZWuYfYBvUYvKQcEGwYQb7wcDJMbvd8zS0KwlvJPfKDi_uRFhPzqhfx0Ou_e/s640/blogger-image--1819293123.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5A_t0Grg1edmIMUk4QkBNWJ6n_rxR_prSJgvp5aSwe3a2ITEOaXeNFsEdBwGGsrpCFzqvZzjwD3lrRBozuZWuYfYBvUYvKQcEGwYQb7wcDJMbvd8zS0KwlvJPfKDi_uRFhPzqhfx0Ou_e/s640/blogger-image--1819293123.jpg"></a></div><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Well, all for now and thank you so much for stopping in. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><br></div><div><br><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>Carolyn in Texashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18057486537695132540noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084288145346210823.post-75369269335138292692014-07-04T14:06:00.001-04:002014-07-04T14:06:18.692-04:00Happy July 4thCan't stay long, but I will be back with you all. As some of you know I am extremely hard of hearing and that problem has gotten worse in the last year till it's almost impossible to understand the spoken word and I am withdrawing further and further away from contact with most everyone except family and close friends. Thank God for my iPad and my Closed Caption Captel Phone and my quilting.!!!! <div><br><div><div>I have worn a hearing aid since I was 27 years old, 79 years young now, and as the hearing slowly receded I reverted to wearing an FMStereo system about 6 years ago. This worked for a while, but now, it is beyond being acceptable so my next recourse is a Cochlear Implant if I want any betterment (is that a word? ) to my quality of life, which I certainly do. My brain is young, my hands are nimble and I'm agile enough for my age to not want to curl up and hibernate for what time I have left because I can't hear. It's time to socialize and enjoy the rest of my life. <div><br></div><div>The result of this, after 3 years' consideration, is that I am scheduled to have a Cochlear Implant on April 30. I am writing here on "The Meanderings" to bring hope and Faith in the Almighty to anyone that is going through what I am right now. So....I'll write and update you all as things progress and hopefully, if everything is successful, a celebration worth celebrating!!!!</div><div><br></div><div>I may be able to hear the spoken word again, enjoy a movie and TV without captions, listen to a good thunder storm, hear my music again, hear my great grands voices, hear the birds sing, oh...the list goes on and on....just things you get used to not hearing as your hearing gets worse, and worse, and worse. There is hope and I'm going to share that process with you. If it doesn't work, then we will grieve together. </div><div><br></div><div>I have had my tests and shots and everything is set to go. I'll get back to you on June 1 and let you all know how things went. I won't know if it is successful until one month of healing has gone by and they are able to activate the implant that they have implanted in my brain. If you are not aware of the implant process, just Google Cochlear Implant and read all about it. Dr. McReyolds has done 1700 implants with a 95% success rate. So, I'm very hopeful that all will go well. If you are so inclined, please say a prayer for me and let's all hope for the best.</div><div><br></div><div>Later my friends, and thanks for stopping by.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div></div>Carolyn in Texashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18057486537695132540noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1084288145346210823.post-89277423429887477022014-04-08T09:48:00.001-04:002014-04-13T08:44:28.124-04:00Just Felt Like ChattingGood morning and a good morning it is too. Texas is still in the grip of cool and rainy weather with a nice promising of spring thrown in every once in a while. Lot's going on here in Jamie's quilting studio, testing patterns, working on current ones, finishing others. This is actually part of my living room. It is such a convenient spot with plenty of light.<br />

With collaboration with my daughter, Shirley, we have opened up a new section called "Touch of Faith" that features quilted bible verses and other inspirational sayings that make wonderful "everlasting" gifts. I'd love to have you go on over there and like the page. Just press the Facebook line in blue above and away you go.........</span></div>

<br />
I start every morning off with a couple of cups of coffee while reading a dozen or so quilting blogs and Facebook pages to keep up with what's going on in the world of quilting, fabric, new patterns and just plain enjoyment. <br />
<br />
I would like to recommend one that is very interesting that is written by Bonnie K. Hunter, one of the most fascinating blog writers that I have come across in a long time. Her blog is called <span id="goog_1988623739"></span><a href="http://www.quiltville.blogspot.com/">Quiltsville</a>. She is the author of "Leaders and Enders" and several other great books. Celtic Solstice is one of my favorites from her blog. It was a mystery Quilt-A-Long (QAL). if you would like press the Quiltsville blue above and press the line under her heading. She also has some wonderful free patterns. if you enjoy her blog, go on over there and tell her so. <br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It would also be great if you would be so kind as to leave a comment below and let me know if you enjoy reading about great blogs and patterns that definitely made my bucket list.</span><br />

<br />
Well, that's exactly what it is, one great room that combines an eating area, a TV area and a sewing area which is right in front of a huge window. The bedroom serves as a resting place for me and all my fabric. My lovely big closet also serves as the resting place for all 60 items I have posted on my Etsy Shop. <br />
<br />
In my living area I have a TV resting on a dresser/bureau which I couldn't fit in the bedroom and it is filled with fabric for future projects, a desk that has two drawers dedicated to new fabric and a baker's rack filled with boxes entirely filled with projects that are ready to go. A quilter I have been for about 15 years now and will be until the day I can no longer either see or feel the essence of beautiful fabric or no longer have a mind that can create with that fabric. <br />
<br />
Speaking of Etsy, I'll like to share with you the following notice I just posted there.<br />

Where have I been? Well, it's a long story seeing that the last post was in March. Time flies and my life has been one changing scene after another. <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
After my husbands passed two years ago, I put my house up for sale with the hopes of moving to Texas to be with family when the house sold. Well, as you can see it has taken 2 years to sell, but F I N A L L Y I got an interested buyer and then the fun began. How to pack a five room house and make arrangements to move from NC to Texas? Well, it wasn't easy, especially when you don't have family in the neighborhood. Thank God for one very good lady friend though. I doubt I could have done it without her. We sold all the big stuff and all the junk stuff that you accumulate in 57 years of marriage and still stuffed a 10x22 storage shed in Texas. And I mean stuff!! Finally the big day arrived and I flew to Texas two months ago to be met by 2 of my daughters and in two weeks I will be moving to my very own small but lovely apartment. This apartment is going to be a glorified combination living and crafting area. It's going to be close, but I Will Overcome and it will be great when I am finished with it. A wonderful space to relax with my feet up with a glass of wine and knit while I watch TV when I am not quilting. I'm really looking forward to the challenge!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I will say my quilting has bloomed and if you have been following my Etsy shop you will know that I have been turning out many quilted, knitting and crocheted items during the last two years. If you haven't been following the shop, please take a <a href="http://goodiesbyjamie.etsy.com/">look</a> if you would like to. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
My latest endeavor is an experience that I am happy to be a part of. I met a wonderful lady here in Texas who is the mother-in-law of my daughter's friend (got that?) It seems that my daughter's friend is the proud owner of sixteen hand embroidered blocks made by her grandmother many long years ago, and she has asked me to make a quilt for her using those blocks. Needless to say, I was extremely interested and set about designing a background for these blocks. The layout was approved and the material purchased and I am well on my way to having one half of the quilt sewed. I'm not going to share it with you just yet, but I will when my friends have seen it first. Needless to say the blocks are fragile but beautiful. I have backed each block with a very soft fusible interfacing which came out perfect. The handwork is delightful with baskets of beautiful flowers, etc. I have never made a commissioned quilt before and it is scary but exciting. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I have joined a Quilt Guild and a Knitting Guild and attend a couple of quilting Bees and life is certainly a lot more interesting than when in NC. I am so glad I made the move. I'm with family (daughters, son in law, grandkids and their families, and a nephew with his brand new wife) all of whom I love and the freedom to go and do what I want. Happy Day!!!</div>

I'm on a happy, happy just outside of Houston, Texas staying with my daughter for a fun filled week of crafting, shopping and eating.<br />
<br />
For my quilting addiction, we visited Quilt and Sew in Katy which is always wonderful, and for my knitting and crochet addiction we drove to Sugar Land and to the Sugarland Yarn Co. which was an experience. For a combination of both crafts we took a trip to <span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">La Grange to The Quilted Skein which is a yarn and fabric shop that was absolutely paradise to me. Naturally, I bought wares in every store to bring home as a reminder of my trip. Isn't that a great excuse</span> for spending money on my addictions? <br />

I am fortunate enough to have a daughter that shares my love of fiber art crafts who loves to share her talents with me. <br />
<br />
This trip gave me a chance to see a couple of my daughters, my grandkids and my great grandkids. It was wonderful seeing them. I would love to put their pictures in here also, but I respect their privacy and will not.<br />

Well, today's the day. While perusing "Bellaonline" in the quilting forum I found a discussion about making hand made Hand Cream. This discussion talked to me, believe me. I have the dryest skin in creation, cracks around my thumb nail (so painful) and dry elbows to mention a few problems.<br />
<br />
Off to Dollar General to buy the ingredients:<br />
<br />
A 16 oz. bottle of Baby Lotion (Pink Bottle)<br />
An 8 oz Jar of Vaseline<br />
An 8 oz Jar of Vitamin E Cream.<br />
<br />
Now, how to put it all together....simply empty all the contaianers into a medium size mixing bowl and beat with your electric mixer until smoth and creamy. Oh it is so pretty, light and smells so good. I am told that it will not turn and will last forever. Time will tell! Imagine and all for under $5. <br />
<br />
I put some back into the vitamin E bottle and the rest into a plastic container with a lid. Will offer small batches to my friends and neighbors. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBbEVfVVcFmegvtYh2Nbi2PgaccujGHu4cIv5oMJ8IGnkOv7tv86zEPtGZ4ANrAFRfzrqsMDnoiWPkexf_nKrMd3ZGIU3eimL4wrLuGfPdyc2IC-yEVLRmOyrXZ4pnkEzXK_heoQ7HU53d/s1600/Hand+cream.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBbEVfVVcFmegvtYh2Nbi2PgaccujGHu4cIv5oMJ8IGnkOv7tv86zEPtGZ4ANrAFRfzrqsMDnoiWPkexf_nKrMd3ZGIU3eimL4wrLuGfPdyc2IC-yEVLRmOyrXZ4pnkEzXK_heoQ7HU53d/s320/Hand+cream.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I waited to post this until I had tried it and I have to say it really works. I have a small pretty jar on my bedstand, one in the kitchen by the sink and one in the living room where I settle in to relax and watch TV, knit or crochet. <br />
<br />
Catch you next time. Try this you might like it!!!!!!<br />

<br />
My New Years' Resolution is to try and blog more often. I'll see what I can do. <br />
<br />
My thought for this first month of 2013 is.......<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
"<i><b>I've seen better days,</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>but I've also seen worse.</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>I don't have everything that I want,</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>but I do have all I need.</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>I woke up with some aches and pains,</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>but I woke up.</b></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><b>My life may not be perfect, but I am blessed.</b></i></div>

Chemical Warning<br />
<br />
A recent study indicated that fabric gives off certain Pheromones that actually hypnotize women and cause them to purchase unreasonable amounts. When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces, the Pheromones (in the fabric) causes memory loss and induces the nesting syndrome (similar to the one squirrels have before the onset of winter i.e. storing food). Therefore perpetuating their species and not having a population loss due to their kind being cut into pieces and mixed with others.<br />
<br />
Sound tests have also revealed that these fabrics emit a very high pitched sound, heard only by a select few, a breed of women know as “quilters”. When played backwards on an LP, the sounds are heard as chants, “buy me, cut me and sew me”. In order to overcome the so called “feeding frenzy effect” that these fabrics cause, one must wear a face mask when entering a storage facility and use ear plugs to avoid being pulled into their grip. One must laugh, however, at the sight of customers in a quilt fabric store, with WWII army gas masks and headphones!<br />
<br />
Studies have also indicated that aliens have inhabited the earth, helping to spread the effects that these fabrics have on the human population. They are called QUILT FABRIC STORE CLERKS.<br />
<br />
It’s also been experienced that these same Pheromones cause a pathological need to hide these fabric purchases when taken home (or at least blend them into the existing stash), and when asked by significant other if the fabric is new, the reply is “I’ve had it for awhile".<br />

I am writing this in the first person as I am the one going through the ordeal!***<br /><br />How to spend a holiday after your loved one has passed. Interesting thought, right? But it happens to all of us eventually and unfortunately. <br /><br />You will find yourself out in left field, feeling like the world's worst third wheel. BUT, after the third holiday, I found that the answer lies with yourself. You will overcome!!!! You have to in order to survive the years of holidays ahead of you. <br /><br />You will get used to the fact that folks find it hard to mention the missing link in your life. Bring him into the conversation whenever you can and they will realize that he is still an integral part of your life and always will be. He needs to be remembered for what he was, the light of your life, your reason for being even if sometimes the road to paradise was indeed rocky. <br /><br />You are probably spending these holidays with the folks you love most and who loved you both. Keep that feeling alive as long as you need to. They as well as you have many happy memories to share. Don't hide those memories. Keep them alive.<br /><br />I am writing this on a lazy Thanksgiving afternoon and remembering how much my hubs loved his turkey dinner. We had one for this holiday as well as Christmas and most likely Easter, for 57 years. Do you realize how many memories you can accumulate in that many years? <br /><br />For some reason folks find it very hard to verbalize the thoughts of a deceased member of the family, especially on a holiday. So help them out, bring their names into the conversations. They will appreciate it as they do not know how you will handle talking about him of her.<br /><br />So, start enjoying those holidays with the spirit of your loved one right beside you as long as you need them to being you comfort and enjoyment. <br /><br />Signing off and wishing you many happy holidays.</span><br />

<br />
It all started with a recipe from Pinterest. I'm sure you all know about Pinterest. If you don't, please contact me and I'll be glad to explain and get you an invite.<br />
<br />
When I saw a recipe with only two ingredients, I did a hop, skip and a jig, and said "Oh Boy, that's for me". Can you imagine an Angel Food cake with only 2 ingredients? An Angel Food Cake Mix and a large can of Crushed Pineapple. Well, it's true and I hereby attest to that.<br />
<br />
It sounded so good that I ran to the store and bought the only Angel Food cake mix they had and a can of Dole crushed pineapple. I quick like mixed it together and dragged out my bundt pan, mind you I didn't check the recipe on which pan I should use. By the time the oven was hot and the mixture in the pan it was starting to foam up. Well, I tucked it in the pan and hoped for the best. Ten minutes later, it started rising well over the edge of the rim....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxUcOgs9uFGkrhxcwTwK3F8AQdCWkgfG0tl2FFbI6KJebDh89aOcULPb0yiHY1stEuwyE7jIEF3R43hk8hLsOdhTmNmGPzlY4KXClEGYcpLy6ZIs7Hd9KK1RaFF11dCfmuFq21E6Zwu5O/s1600/Angelcake1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxUcOgs9uFGkrhxcwTwK3F8AQdCWkgfG0tl2FFbI6KJebDh89aOcULPb0yiHY1stEuwyE7jIEF3R43hk8hLsOdhTmNmGPzlY4KXClEGYcpLy6ZIs7Hd9KK1RaFF11dCfmuFq21E6Zwu5O/s320/Angelcake1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Well, now I'm getting scared that it's going to go all over the stove, but seeing that I had a liner in the bottom of the stove, I figured I'd let it go a bit further.<br />
<br />
Half hour later, it looked like this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyESjRIS9fEPf6PXYPxiKeL8iAhTRN_f24CJwzCUA0O6IQfc0zmTTrSrT0bBFt6-pARo1kQYRy9xQpnoj03ox3hU9odybjF11N2cA-Gu3NJLleMptZUaIjuvJpJyH_vHCeom6VzcvwDSBo/s1600/Angelcake2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgyESjRIS9fEPf6PXYPxiKeL8iAhTRN_f24CJwzCUA0O6IQfc0zmTTrSrT0bBFt6-pARo1kQYRy9xQpnoj03ox3hU9odybjF11N2cA-Gu3NJLleMptZUaIjuvJpJyH_vHCeom6VzcvwDSBo/s320/Angelcake2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Well, it's over the top, but not yet over the edge so I let it go. Lo and behold it came out beautifully.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8WbgC1izzswT1L5HsF1wJkGP_B4YFeXUVq6lBOJ6w0nzRt-f0wF21QlZTBXCBQejDUYfAuIygVU9_v94NPZlC8HXB7glNsltNMsqeDlCB543xMzy9wrSKBbv_Krs5iDoJsgDRs5-C02JD/s1600/angelcake3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8WbgC1izzswT1L5HsF1wJkGP_B4YFeXUVq6lBOJ6w0nzRt-f0wF21QlZTBXCBQejDUYfAuIygVU9_v94NPZlC8HXB7glNsltNMsqeDlCB543xMzy9wrSKBbv_Krs5iDoJsgDRs5-C02JD/s320/angelcake3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Had to let it cool for an hour and a half. That's when I read the directions and found out it was supposed to be baked in an Angel Food Cake pan. Oh well, I didn't have one of those anyway. It had to rest on a bottle for the required time. The only bottle with a small enough stem was a small bottle of Chardonnay, as you can see. Hey, it worked for me.<br />
<br />
Finally, the cake was cooled and ready to come out of the pan. It was a bit tricky, but I got it out all in one piece....<br />

Fantastic. I used a serrated knife just to be on the safe side and it was awesome and I enjoyed eating it with the bottle of wine!!!!! <br />
<br />
I have to admit, it probably would have come out of an Angel Food Pan easier, but I'm a Bundt Cake nut. The whole deal from start to finish was fun and the result was entirely worth the time and trouble it took to make. Treat yourself. <br />
<br />
Catch you next time.<br />

Now, hows that for a name? I love chicken, crab cakes and parmigiana, so why not mix them up, and as I promised you a recipe using Rotisserie Chicken, this will do nicely. Thanks Betty Crocker. When it comes to easy and good, your always there. This recipe is crispy outside and tender inside. Chicken cakes using rotisserie chicken go from start to finish in 20 minutes. Hope you enjoy them.
